It is based on the idea that ‘like cures like’ – that substances which cause symptoms can, in very small amounts, be used to cure or ease them. Homeopaths must conduct a great deal of research as part of their job. They must keep up with trends in the industry, new herbs, and new healing techniques that may be used for their patients. A homeopath is more of a general practitioner within the holistic medicine world and looks at the whole person to understand the mental, emotional, and physical state, and how these may all relate to and cause disruptions in any of the patient’s problem areas.
