Orissa asks MCI to intervene in the Kalinga Institute of Medical Science admission case

Orissa government has asked MCI (Medical Council of India) to intervene into enrolment of 100 students at KIMS (Kalinga Institute of Medical Science) which was not allowed to admit undergraduate students for 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years on grounds of adverse comments by CBI.

The state government clarified that it would not be responsible for 100 students if MCI disqualifies the admission of these students in future. The KIMS had moved the court challenging the orders of MCI where Orissa High Court directed the medical council to consider their case.

But before MCI could take any action on the order of the court, KIMS gave admission to 100 students to the MBBS course for 2012-13. Thus the state has requested MCI to take necessary actions in this regard.
