Candidates who did not appear for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2014 (MAH CET 2014) can still gain admission into management institutes in Maharashtra, as per a recent notification from the Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra (DTE Maharashtra). Candidates who appeared for the Common Admission Test 2013 (CAT 2013), Graduate Management Admissions Test 2014 (GMAT 2014), Xavier Aptitude Test 2014 (XAT 2014), Management Aptitude Test February 2014 (MAT February 2014), Common Management Admission Test February 2014-15 (CMAT February 2014-15) and AIMS Test for Management Admissions 2014 (ATMA 2014) can apply online for admissions, the DTE Maharashtra notification adds. Such candidates need to register by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
These candidates will only be eligible for All India Seats. They need to register as well as confirm the online application form at the website of DTE Maharashtra. Online payment of Rs 2000 needs to be made by candidates under the General Category. The fees are Rs 1800 for candidates under the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disabilities (SC/ST/PWD) categories belonging to Maharashtra state only.
Registrations for MAH CET 2014 were held from Monday, January 27 to Friday, February 14, 2014. The examination was conducted on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16, 2014 for first-year admission into full-time two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Management Studies (MMS) as well as Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programs offered by government, university managed, university departments as well as unaided institutes in Maharashtra. The examination was held in 46 cities across Maharashtra and few other states in India. The Results of the examination were declared on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. There are around 45,000 MMS/PGDM seats in different institutes in the state.
The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for MAH CET 2014 candidates is being held from Monday, May 12 to Thursday, May 22, 2014. The merit list will be announced on Monday, May 26, 2014. CAP is the final round of the admission process for different business schools (B-schools) in Maharashtra. It consists of Group Discussion-Personal Interview (GD-PI) as well as document verification. Separate merit lists have been drawn for Maharashtra State (MS) and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates. Hence, CAP rounds will be different as per the merit status in both the categories. CAP will have four rounds. Candidates need to note that document verification, updation and confirmation of application form for admission in person at ARC for Maharashtra State/OMS/J&K candidates will be held from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 22, 2014.
