Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Hr. Secondary Education

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) was established under the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act 1965. It started functioning from the year 1966. In 1977 the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act was amended with the aim to make the education system a better functioning body. It works with a motive to encourage and attain excellence in the secondary education of the state. At the time of amendment the name of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary School was renamed as Maharashtra State Board Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

One of the main objectives of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education is to carry out the exams for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (HSC). The primary objective of the board is to aim at achieving various objectives such as affiliation of schools, declaration of results and preparation of course materials.

It also ensures that the educational system helps the students in meeting with the standard pattern of Secondary or Higher Secondary Education therefore helping the students obtain world class education which would help the society. To execute its strategy and sustain the academic objectives, a body was established which comprises of secretary, chairperson & other members to support them.
