Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi sucessfully completed the summer placements for its MBA batch 2011-13. The batch comprised of 226 students. Over 89 domestic and international companies participated in the summer placement process and extended offer from different sectors to the students. The students bagged average stipend of Rs. 1.29 lakhs p.a. The average stipend had seen an increase of over 52% against previous year. Only 3 students opted out of the summer internship program.

Consumer goods sector was the most preferred sector for students this year. The sector secured 27% of students to intern in their companies represented by GSK Consumer Healthcare, Kraft-Cadbury, PepsiCo, Colgate Palmolive, Unilever, P&G, ITC, Akzo Nobel, Asian Paints, Britannia, Nestle, Dabur, Godrej, Heinz, HCCB, J&J Consumer,Coca-Cola, AC Nielsen and Agrotech Foods. The students were offered profiles in Sales & marketing and Business Development.
BFSI was another most preferred sector with nearly 27% of students accepting internship offers. The BSFI sector was represented by Goldman Sachs, HSBC and Standard Chartered, Axis Bank, NM Rothschild, Avendus Capital, O3 Capital Langham Capital, American Express, Citibank, Deutsche Bank (CIB), Equirus Securities, Hinduja Group , ICICI Prudential AMC, Jacob Ballas, Helion Ventures and IDG Ventures. The students were offered profiles such as front end Investment banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Treasury and Markets.
About 15% of students accepted internship offers from IT/Telecom majors such as Microsoft, Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel and Aricent.
Nearly 12% of students chose to intern in manufacturing companies such as Tata Motors,and Aditya Birla Group.
Consulting sector obtained 10% of students to intern at Deloitte, KPMG, TAS, Capgemini, ccenture Management Consulting, TCS and Olam International. The students were offered wide range of profiles such as strategy consulting, business process strategy and general management.
Nearly 6% of students opted to intern in Media and Entertainment sector. The participating companies were Kings XI Punjab,HT Media, Times OOH, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy and Mather.
Only 3% of students chose to intern in other sectors. The public sector enterprises such as Union Bank of India, ONGC and GAIL gave internship offers for students. The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance also gave internship offers to students for their project “financial regulatory environment in India”.
The 100% summer internship placement is a testimony to FMS being one of the best management institutes in India.
