ICFAI University offers two-year MBA Distance Education Program

The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), a non-profit educational society in Hyderabad, Telangana is offering MBA course in distance education. The Institute was set up in 1984 with a vision of offering quality education in this highly competitive world. The group's IBS, established in 1995, is one of the highly rated business schools in India.  The Indian Business School has pan India presence. The group has three divisions such as ICFAI Business School, the ICFAI Universities and the Flexible Learning Programs, which are in distance learning mode.


Its mission is to foray into many states by creating network of Research and Teaching Universities to make sure high quality academic delivery and to further promote robust research culture among universities and institutions for student exchange and faculty programs. Each campus of ICFAI is spread over several acres of environment friendly land. There are a slew of infrastructure in place such as buildings for administration as well as academia, laboratory, hostels for boys and girls, workshop, dining facility and others. The wholesome MBA Program has twenty subjects divided into four modules. You need to complete two modules in a year. In the third modules, you can select an elective subject from 16 electives available. The complete distance education MBA Program is self-study and examination. The University has prescribed books for you tailor made for the self-study purpose.


Graduate in any discipline can apply for MBA Distance Education. The instruction of the two-year program is in English. You need to complete the programs within four years from the date of enrolment. If you are not able to complete the examination within this duration, nevertheless, if you are keen on continuing the program, you can always register again by paying the requisite fee. As the entire program is based on self-study basis, ICFAI is providing counselling classes in order to help you.


The admission fee is Rs.5, 000, program fee for module 1 is Rs.19, 000. The total payment is Rs.24, 000. The equal monthly instalment scheme is available. Initially you need to pay by DD or credit card, Rs.10, 000 and the remaining amount you can pay through post-dated cheques the three EMIs of Rs.4, 850.

Full fee payment

The admission fee is Rs.5, 000 while the program fee for module 1 is Rs.58, 000, so the total comes to Rs.63, 000. Initially you can pay Rs.10, 000 through DD or credit card, while you can pay three EMIs of Rs. 3,850.

Examination & Test Centers

Using the online facility students can register themselves for each subject for their Computer Based Test (CBT). As the examination pattern of ICFAI MBA Distance Education is completely computerized, so examination is also offered through computer based tests.

Students who appear in MBA professional program must make sure that they do not get any backlogs in any of the modules as they cannot appear for backlog exams in subsequent examination ( they are not suppose to give backlog exam of module I in module III). Therefore, they have to have a clear backlog status in a particular module.

The examination pattern of MBA programme is divided into four modules (Module I, Module II, Module III, and Module IV).

The question paper format includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), CBT pattern. Every year ICFAI conducts MBA exams four times in the month of January, April, July and October. On, students can get the details of all CBT exam centers. As per their convenience students can select their exam centers and time slot, and register themselves for their examination.

Career Opportunities

Although the Undergraduate (UG) Programs prepares the students to progress the students to PG level, the program also prepares the students to seek jobs after completing UG level studies, if they so desire. Management students can look for jobs at appropriate management level in manufacturing, marketing services, BPO, Import/Export, HRM and IT and Systems. However, the IT students can seek entry level careers in the following areas: Management Information Systems, Data base management systems, system analysis and design, internet, software engineering, e-business, enterprise resource planning, computer programming, computer networking, internet applications, portals, web-enabled services, business process outsourcing and so on. University believes that the entire placement exercise is a joint effort between the University and the students. While the University provides guidance and support and network with potential employers, the students have the responsibility to put in the maximum possible efforts to obtain suitable placements.


The list of recruiters includes, IBM, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Vodafone, Jindal Steel and Power, ICICI Bank and Hindustan Unilever.
