Indian students going abroad to study is ever growing! Students are visiting United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, Australia and China to pursue higher education. While applying to study abroad, the following list of documents is required based on each country specifics, as well as college applied requirements.
Letter of Intent: The student needs to write a brief essay while applying to universities or colleges mentioning his career goals, which mentioned the achievements of his goals. A Letter of Intent (LOI) is used to assess the capabilities of a student. His aim, interest, analytical abilities are assessed too. The admission department looks for short, focused and a clear Letter Of Intent.
Letter of Recommendations: This is an important document while applying for a foreign degree. The student needs to obtain a Letter of Recommendations (LoR) from a writer who will assess his character and his capabilities.
Offer Letter: An offer letter is a must. The student will have to produce the offer letter issued by the University/Colleges he had applied for admission. As an acceptance, the institution will provide either Unconditional offer letter or Conditional offer letter.
Educational Documents: The student has to provide his 10th& 12th Grade certificates, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, Other Diploma/Certificates (if available).
Experience Documents: If a student has some work experience, he will have to produce a copy of latest joining letter, latest salary slip and employment certificates. Sometimes this might be an advantage to apply for a foreign degree.
Financial Documents: The student will have to provide copy of Bank statement, Sanction letter of Education loan, Investment proofs, Property documents, Income Tax of Self/Sponsor and the CA Reports. Most banks in India offer education loans to students who aspire to study abroad. So producing financial documents is important too.
Resume: The student would have to provide a copy of his resume with his present background, education details and work experience. The resume will be screened followed by an interview during admission process. The resume should carry relevant information. Take the help of a resume writer. A good resume speaks.
Visa Forms: Study Visa forms/F1 Visa forms as applicable to be provided. Follow instructions while filling up the visa forms. A student visa is needed to study abroad. Many students pay less attention to details and miss out of minor points while applying. So take time to read and apply.
Other Documents: The student has to also provide Passport, Visa Fee receipt, IELTS/TOEFL mark sheets; GMAT/GRE marks sheets, Sponsor letter, and Scholarship letter. Check your passport validity date, scan and attest all mark sheets.
Immunization/Vaccination records: Students would require taking certain vaccinations before proceeding abroad. Check with the Country website for any health concerns and its vaccination details.
