Patna University directs colleges and PG departments to submit income and expenditure details

The Patna University has decided to keep a check on the financial accounts of all post graduate departments and colleges affiliated to it. In this regard, the university has asked all departments and colleges to submit details regarding funds received from various sources as well as expenditure details.

A letter has been sent by the university to all principals, heads of departments and directors seeking details on income and expenses on all research projects. Of late, the colleges have been receiving attractive grants from various sources such as ICSSR, DST and UGC. However, details about the utilization of these funds are usually not provided to the university. Earlier, the university had asked colleges and departments to present their income and expenditure details of self financing and vocational courses of 2011-12.

The heads of various PG departments have requested the university to release annual contingency grants so that projects can run smoothly. Due to lack of sufficient funds, departments are having problem in fulfilling their daily expenses.
