Union Public Service Commission has announced the dates for SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) exam which will be conducted in January 2012. The SCRA entrance exam will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012.
UPSC SCRA 2012 is an entrance exam which is conducted to provide admission in undergraduate programs in mechanical engineering at Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. This exam is considered as one of the most prestigious examinations for students aspiring to join Indian Railway Services.
SCRA 2012 Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must have passed the intermediate or an equivalent examination of a university or board approved by the government of India with mathematics.
- Must be between 17 to 21 years of age as on 1 January 2012. A relaxation of 3 years is provided to the upper age limit of the SC/ST/OBC categories.

SCRA 2012 Paper Pattern:
UPSC SCRA 2012 is a written exam which is divided into 3 sections. Each section is of 2 hours duration which consists of General Ability Test (English, General Knowledge and Psychological Test), Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics. Each section is given equal weightage of 200 marks.
SCRA 2012 entrance exam will be conducted on – Sunday, January 29, 2012.
