VITEEE 2017 Counseling from May 10

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), located in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu has announced that its first phase one counseling for the candidates who have cleared the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2017 will be held from May 10-12.

Those candidates who have secured ranks up to 20,000 can attend the first phase of counseling. The candidates who have qualified the VITEEE 2017 99,999th rank are eligible to attend the counseling starting from May 11-15. Also the VITEEE-2017 rank holders starting from first rank to 99,999 can attend the counseling for admission in Vellore and Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and VIT Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.


For the candidates from Bhopal, rank holders up to 1, 50,000 can attend the counseling. The date of counseling for the rank holders starting from 1, 00,000 till 1, 50,000 from Bhopal will be announced by VIT soon. The merit list, All India rank list and score card are available at the official website of VIT.

VIT has organised the VITEE 2017 from April 5-16. VITEEE 2017 is held for B.Tech programmes. In November 2016 the application process for the exam began and the last date of receipt of application forms was on February 28, 2017.


VITEEE 2017 examination was held from April 5 to April 23. There were 120 subject based questions and five English language based questions. The online examination did not have negative marking. VIT University is ranked 13th in the NIRF ranking by the HRD Ministry among India's best engineering colleges.

According to Viswanathan the admissions would be given only on merit, based on marks obtained by the candidates. The Results were released through on April 23. Counseling will be held parallelat Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravathi (AP) campuses. Candidates who obtained ranks up to 8,000 would be held on May 10, counseling between rank 8,001 and 14,000, would be held on May 11, while for those who secured ranks from 14,001 to 20,000 would be held on May 12. Central and State Board toppers would be given 100 percent fee waiver for all the four years.


VITEEE 2017 Results were announced on April 23. Surprise was in store for those candidates who have cleared the entrance examination. VIT made a surprise announcement stating that the toppers of each State and Central Boards will a 100% waiver of tuition fees for those seeking BTech courses for four years. What is more, VIT has also announced a slew of benefits for the rank holders. The top 50 rank holders will get 75% tuition fee waiver for all the four years. Those rank holders between 51 and 100 will get 50% tuition fee waiver and those fall between 101 and 1,000 will get a tuition fee waiver of 25%.

When the entrance examination Results were announced on April 23, there was yet another surprise in store. Usually, students from Andhra Pradesh dominate the top ranking. This time around, candidates from North India seized the opportunity.

Aashish Waikar of Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula in Madhya Pradesh secured the first rank in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination. While announcing the resluts, G Viswanathan, Cancellor of VIT said that a staggering 2, 23,081 candidates registered for the VITEE 2017. Divyansh Tripathi of Prabhat Senior Secondary Public School, Uttar Pradesh secured the second rank, while Divyanshu Mandowara of Aracadia Academy Co-educational English Medium Senior Secondary School Rajasthan bagged the third rank.

Other seven rank holders included Abhishek Rao of Remal Public School, UP; Bhanuteja Bolisetti of Sri Chaitanya Narayana Junior College, Telangana; Hritwik Singhai of Little Kingdom Senior Secondary School, MP; Pratheek Dsouza Rebello of Musthifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School, Goa; Avvari Sai SSV Bharadwaj of Sri Chaitanya Junior Kalasa, Telangana; Patel Manan Brijesh of Shree Swaminarayan Secondary School Gujarat and ShouryaAggarwal of Hans Raj Model School, Delhi.


The Scholarships for the initial year will be applicable based on rank mentioned above. From second year onwards the scholarship will apply for each year depending on the minimum required CGPA of 8.0 or above, minimum attendance and discipline.

Those who have cleared the entrance examination can gain admission into one of four branches of VIT in courses like BTech, BTech Bio-Medical Engineering, BTech Biotechnology and BTech Computer Science.
