Delhi University (DU) final year students were at despair when online Results marked them as ‘absent’ in one of the English papers. The students of English (hons) at Vivekananda College were shocked to see that they have been instructed ‘Essential Repeat’ against their names when Results were declared on July 22, 2012.

When they approached their colleges, college records showed them as present and marked them as having appeared for the paper. The matter is been taken up by the Dean of Examinations now for further inquiry. 20 students in a series of roll numbers have been marked as absent in the paper. The examination attendance sheets have been faxed to the concerned department for verification.

The student were asked to submit an application at the examination office but were denied any kind of acknowledgement or receipt that can be produced at the time of admission.

Later it was revealed that mistakenly answer scripts of this group of students were sent to a different department. The matter has been resolved and actual marks are in the process of uploading. The Dean assured students that their postgraduation admission will not be delayed due to the Results goof up.
