Students Helpline Launched in Delhi University

With the new academic session commencing at Delhi University, the help lines at University Information Center (UIC)  has not stopped buzzing ever since it’s official launch on March 3. The UIC is busy receiving calls from all over the country and overseas with queries pertaining to admission norms for different colleges, entrance exams and cut-offs.

The UIC is managed by a team of 5 members who are responsible for attending the calls and replying to their queries through e-mails. As per the team, the UIC receives about 500 to 600 phone calls and 70 to 100 emails per day. The UIC also receives calls from class XII students who have recently taken their board exams to enquire about various courses and colleges offering those courses.

Sources from UIC reveal that the centre is operated as a guide for students who are willing to be a part of the university. The UIC is making sure to reply to all the queries on that particular day. They receive maximum phone calls from parents of those students who are appearing for their class XII board exams from all over the states since they have modest knowledge regarding the system of the university and are worried about the cut-offs.

Quite a number of students call to figure out if it’s possible for them to alter their subjects from what they had been studying in school. A number of students call up to know the whereabouts regarding the timetable of entrance exam for different courses.

Other than admissions, students of School of Open Learning (SOL) are continuously raising queries regarding their exam Results. However, UIC is unable to answer any specific queries related to the PG programs in DU.
