Selection and Application

The candidates who successfully apply for admission on or before the last date are marked and selected on the basis of a written test or an interview. You can also know the application fee amount and other details from the official website of the institution. The candidates need to send the application in the prescribed format to the Controller of Examination of the Indian Maritime University. Along with the educational documents related to the Higher Secondary or other graduate or Post-Graduate Degrees before or on 15th November 2018. The candidates are also required to mention 3 preferences of IMU campuses where he/she wishes to give his written test and application form.


The Written Test

The written test will be a complete question paper based on MCQs consisting of the following marking pattern:

  • General Mental Ability – 25 Marks
  • Knowledge of Maritime Sector – 35 Marks
  • Knowledge of the Research area – 60 Marks

You will do this on an OMR sheet. You will have to answer a total of 120 questions and these will carry no negative marking.
