For all the aircraft aspirants, Boeing- Air India brings free training courses in aircraft maintenance engineering in India. Boeing and Air India Engineering Services Ltd. (AIESL) are offering free training to those who join the first batch of 2018 for the AME Apprenticeship Program. This article provides complete information on the eligibility criteria, the training modules and the application procedure.
Boeing and Air India Engineering Services Ltd. (AIESL) has launched a one year accelerated Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Apprenticeship Program in India. Classes for the program will be conducted at AIESL, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL), a subsidiary company of Air India Limited, is approved by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
Features of AME program
This is a full-time program of 12 months’ duration. The curriculum is based on select CAR 66 (CAR is the abbreviation of ‘Civil Aviation Requirements’) subject modules, namely 3, 5, 6, 7A, 8, 9A, 10, 11A, 15, 17A. These will be taught by Air India trainers who are highly qualified in the relevant technical fields.

You should be studying in the last semester /On-job-training (OJT) of a 3-year course at any DGCA-approved AME college.
You should have passed out of the 3-year course from a DGCA-approved AME college (e.g. Institute Of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Gorakhpur
Additionally, you should pass the entrance exam for the AME Apprenticeship program 2018.

Process to apply
You need to register online at https://www.myamcat.com/ame.
You will receive an email intimation informing you whether you have been shortlisted for Round 2 or have been rejected. If you have been shortlisted for Round 2, then you will get the admit card. Take this second admit card along with a valid Government-issued photo ID proof to the test centre. You will receive an email intimation of the final status, namely whether or not you have been selected for the program.
As soon as you successfully submit the application, you will get a confirmation email. You will subsequently get you admit card with the test centre details & timings. This admit card, along with a valid Government-issued photo ID proof is required to be produced at the test centre for Round 1 of the test.
- Registration closing date: 3rd May 2018.
- Entrance exam dates: Round 1: 12th May 2018; those who clear the first round will appear for Round 2 on 26th May 2018.
- Classes begin in August 2018.
