CEED 2019 Syllabus
CEED 2019 Syllabus Overview – For M.Des Admissions, the syllabus of CEED 2019 has been prescribed by IIT Bombay, which is the exam conducting body. For part A and part B, CEED 2019 syllabus will be separate. The topics in part A of CEED syllabus are visualization and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, observation and design sensitivity, design thinking and problem-solving are the topics in Part A of CEED whereas Part B will judge the candidates’ drawing, creativity, communication skills and analytical & problem-solving skills. In fact, CEED syllabus 2019 comprises the topics from which questions will be asked in the entrance test.
Syllabus of CEED 2019 – Part A
Language and Creativity
In commonly used English language, candidates should improve their ability to understand passages. They should be adept in thinking creatively and out of the box.
Environmental and Social Awareness
The general awareness topics including pollution, water, vegetation, weather, natural resources, climate, population etc. and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure and environment should be strengthened.
With design, history of design, art, sculpture and literature, etc. are part of this section, aspiring candidates should also be aware of the different design terminologies, social and cultural connection.
Design Thinking and Problem Solving
In this section, for a given design problem, the candidates’ ability to understand the context, users and constraints as well as the selection of the most relevant solution will be evaluated.
Visualization and Spatial Ability
Testing the perception of transformation in regards to the pictorial and diagrammatic questions
The manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning
In this section, logical analysis of the given information and selection of the most relevant solutions is included.
Against the appropriate criteria, candidates should be able to weigh the opinions and arguments and deduce from a short passage upon the use of logic and structured thinking too, which of a number of statements is the most correct response to a question in the analytical and logical reasoning section.
Observation and Design Sensitivity
The candidates should be able to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them in this section of CEED 2019. They should have the skills to perceive subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes.
Syllabus of CEED 2019 – Part B
Using visuals and texts, the ability to communicate ideas and concepts will be checked in this section.
To think out of the box and come up with innovative as well as diverse solutions is the paramount importance to crack in this section.
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
In design, original solutions, etc, candidates’ skills of understanding the user and context, knowledge of different materials.
In proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading, candidates should be adept in drawing products, people or scenes.
