GujCET Admit Cards 2019 available on official website
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board had released the Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2019 (GujCET) Admit Card, the IE reported. The candidates can download the hall tickets from the official websites, gsebht.in or gseb.org. The date for the GujCET 2019 was rescheduled to April 26 due to the Lok Sabha Elections. The earlier reason for the change in date announced by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) cited was a clash with CBSE examinations as the reason behind the change in the schedule noted the report. Initially, the state board had announced that GUJCET would be held on March 30, which was then deferred to April 4, citing the same reason, the report further said.

As per the circular issued by GSHSEB on January 21, keeping in mind the change in the schedule of CBSE examination, the GujCet date announced on April 4, will now be held on April 23. A previous year too, the examination was held on April 23, said the report. Over 1.36 lakh candidates took GujCet at 34 centres in 2018. Out of a total of 1,36,498 registered candidates, 134979 took the examinations. The examination is held every year on for admission to state-level engineering colleges. It is a three-hour examination held offline. GujCet is held for securing admissions to engineering and degree/diploma pharmacy courses in government, government-aided and self-finance institutes of the state added the report.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board or GSEB is a government of Gujarat body responsible for determining the policy-related, administrative, cognitive, and intellectual direction the state’s secondary and higher secondary educational system takes. Main responsibilities of the Board include academics, conducting examinations and research and development. The Board is responsible for registration and administration of higher secondary and secondary schools in the state of Gujarat.
The Board was formed on the basis of ‘The Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972’. It is a very popular board in the State. The Board holds state level examination. The main academic task of GSEB is the preparation of syllabus for secondary schools and also the recommendation of text-books to be taught in government schools as well as registered private schools. The Board also performs the duties of recognising new schools, performance evaluation of schools and inspections of various schools associated with the Board.
The GSEB conducts two (including four-semester type examinations) main examinations – The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination for Class X and the Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (HSC) examination for Standard XI-XII students in Gujarat. The Board also holds a Talent Search for students of Class VIII and IX in five major subjects every year. It is divided into two major parts. Recently, GSEB has changed State level Examinations from JEE (Mains) to GujCet.
