ICAI CPT Exams scheduled for June 16th, registrations open
ICAI CPT Exams – Students who are preparing for their CPT exams are requested to get their exam mode on as the dates for the exams have been announced. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has rolled out the exam schedule for the Common Proficiency Test on Friday. The exams will be conducted on June 16, this year.
To add more, the exams will be conducted through two sessions across 195 centres in India and 5 centres abroad. Though the centres have been finalized, the council still has the authority to remove or withdraw any centre at any stage without presenting any reason.
Candidates can enrol themselves from the exam through the official website/ online portal of ICAI – icaiexam.icai.org. The online registration commences from April 4, 2019, and remains open up until April 24, 2019. Furthermore, candidates who register between April 24, and May 2, 2019, would encounter a penalty of a late fee. A late fee of INR 100 would be vested upon the candidates from the country, while a penalty of $10 will be imposed upon the candidates who take to the foreign centres. The official pay for registration can be done online through either VISA or MAESTRO debit/credit/rupay cards or through online net banking.
The fee (barring the late fee penalty) for the exam is INR 1000 for the Indian centres, INR 1700 for centres in Kathmandu (Nepal) and $300 for centres located in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, and Muscat.
As mentioned earlier, the exam would be conducted through two different sessions on the same day. The sessions would be broken down into the Morning and Afternoon sessions with each session giving the candidates 2 hours to complete their exams.

It is to be noted that the CPT is open only to students who have been registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India for the Common Proficiency Test.
The test is an objective type exam with a time restriction of 2 hours to complete the exam. Candidates would be required to answer questions via MCQ (multiple choice questions) format.
Candidates have the liberty to choose from the two optional languages in which they would like to take up their exams – English or Hindi.
