IIM Raipur holds Annual Alumni Meet at its New Campus
IIM Raipur – The Annual Alumni Meet was celebrated amidst nostalgia at the newly constructed campus of IIM Raipur in Atal Nagar. The Alumni committee of the institute organised the event on 19th January.
The Alumni consisted of individuals working in India and abroad. Former students of both the PGPM and PGPMWE programs attended the event. They were ecstatic to see the sprawling new campus, and some were also seen strolling around to take note of its grandeur.
Prof. DR. Bharat Bhasker inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. He then addressed the august gathering praising how well the students were doing in their careers and how some of them have become successful entrepreneurs and the contribution of students, faculty and administration in the development of the institution.
Prof. Dr Sanjeev Prashar, Dean Academics and Prof. Dr.Satyasiba Das, Chairperson Alumni Committee and members of the faculty and administration also graced the event. Prof. Prasharwhile addressing the gathering said that the New Campus is being leveraged to offer more academic programs such as PGPWE and MDP. Prof. Das added that the alumni base of IIM Raipur has now become more than 1000 and highlighted the importance of having a large alumni base.
The annual Alumni newsletter “Aluminati 2018” was launched by all the dignitaries and was received by the Executive Members of Alumni Committee. Prof. Bhasker felicitated the alumni by presenting them mementoes. Everyone then gathered for a photography session followed by High Tea.
The current batch of students at IIM Raipur also got a chance to interact with the alumni at the Student-Alumni Interaction. The Alumni shared their experiences and clarified various queries of students. This was followed by Cultural Performances by students and Director’s Dinner. The last leg of the event was a Panel Discussion on ‘Career Development’ for PGP 2018-20 batch followed Q & A session.
Mr Amit Sharan Singh, a PGP batch 2010-12 pass-out said he was extremely happy and proud to visit his alma mater and was grateful for the knowledge the institute provided him. The Alumni Committee members said they were really happy that the event turned out to be a success and that week of their hard work paid-off.
The Institute believes in preparing ethical leaders who are not only committed to business, commerce and industry but are also socially conscious towards their contribution in nation building and bring in a name for the country globally. The institute is abuzz with activities carried by the student clubs which are now expanding their scope of activity and bringing luminaries from the Corporate.
