As per the notification, Rs 800 for the general population, Rs 400. for SC ST PWD while Rs 2000/ shall be required to be paid by the ERP
Educational qualification for Eligibility Criteria
Bachelors degree in the relevant field of engineering/technology or master’s degree in physical sciences, statistics, mathematics, electronics, geology, instrumentation, computer applications with a valid GATE 2017 / 2018 / 2019 score
About the IISC
One of the country’s premier institution with a great reputation internationally this institute was established in 1209 with the active support of the Sir Jamshetji Tata, His Highness Krishnaraja Wodeyar iv, in addition, people like the Nizam Of Hyderabad,( donated Rs 3 lakhs” for the purpose ) The first Director of the Institute was Sir Morris Travers while the first Indian Director was the Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman. The current Director is Anurag Kumar.
This institute was actually the outcome of a chanced meeting between Vivekananda and Jamshetji Tata on a cruise where Jamshetji told Vivekananda about his dream of building a research institute of Science and higher education. Vivekananda was impressed and gave his blessings. The Institute was set up in Bangalore The Maharaja had donated land of about 371 acres and Jamshetji had donated many buildings
The first batch of students was admitted on 24th July 1909 to the Departments of General and Applied Chemistry under Norman Rudolf and Electro-Technology under Alfred Hay. Within two months, the Department of Organic Chemistry was opened. The institute was granted the deemed university status in 1958.
The Institute was the first to start a Master’s program in engineering and also integrated doctoral programs in Chemical, biological, Physical and Mathematical Sciences. A fully residential institution the IISC has a campus of 400 acres which not only houses the institute but also a hostel for both girls and boys, and residential quarters for faculty and staff canteens, gymkhana, cricket and football grounds cafeteria library etc and also a private airstrip.
