School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is started in 1986 under the College of Engineering in NTU. Since then it has expanded hugely to include Undergraduate, Graduate and Research programs. It also offers various research programs with more than 50 laboratories and 12 research centres.
Joint M.Sc. Integrated Circuit Design
Joint Master of Science program in Integrated Circuit Design is provided by the NTU in partnership with the Technical University of Munich, a leading German University. The course curriculum is shared between the universities with NTU and TUM sharing the course content among them. This unique design allows the students to get the expertise from two globally renowned universities in one single course.
This will be a two-year full-time course with eight core courses and four elective courses. Apart from the core and elective courses, there are a compulsory English module and cross-discipline modules as well. The course also includes an internship of 3 months and a dissertation for six months. Including all the above the total duration of the course will be 20 months.
The course will be managed and administered by the Technical University of Munich – Asia, and the course content will be provided by both NTU and TUM sharing the papers among them.
For admission in this course, you would need a bachelor’s degree or FH diploma obtained in Europe or Germany or any equivalent qualification with a good score. Since the medium of teaching for this course is English, you would need to have enough proficiency in English to join this course. In case if you have qualified with a different medium of teaching in your Bachelor’s degree, you would need to have a good score in either of the English language exams – TOEFL or IELTS
The field of Integrated Circuits had grown tremendously over the last two decades. Currently, there are no industries without embedded technology. So the demand for professionals with a Master’s degree in this field is highly sought after. Since this course is jointly provided by the largest universities in Singapore and Germany, you can find a lot of opportunities in both these countries.
