Last date to apply for IIT JAM 2019 PG Admission on April 25

Submission of application form for admission based on the JAM 2019 scorecard has commenced on the official website, as per the report. The Joint Entrance Test (JAM) 2019 was conducted by IIT Kharagpur, this year on February 10, 2019, and the official scorecard was released on April 2.

The JAM scorecards can be downloaded from the JOAPS website till July 31, 2019. The JAM 2019 application form can be submitted through the website until April 25, 2019. The last date for receipt of the request for change of category with proper documents is April 29, 2019, said the report.

JAM 2019 is conducted for candidates who want to pursue M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post Bachelor’s Degree Program at various IITs in the country. There is an Integrated PhD. Program at the Indian Institute of Science or IISc to which admissions shall be made on the basis of JAM 2019. The JAM 2019 scores can be also used for admissions into NITs and IISER.

Key Dates

  • The first, second and third admission list will be available on the official website of JAM 2019 from June 4, June 18, and June 28, 2019, respectively
  • The last date for admissions through JAM 2019 will be on July 4, 2019
  • The candidates need to have mandatory documents like Class X and Class XII certificates, qualifying date sheets, birth certificate and other documents for the admission process

How to Apply

  • Applicants can apply for Admission based on JAM 2019 only through the online application process at JAM 2019 website (
  • The application fee for the admission is Rs. 600 for all applicants and is non-refundable
  • Applicants can use their Enrolment ID and password for logging into and view their scores
  • If they are qualified, they can start applying for admission by choosing ” Admission Form Filling”

The candidate needs to have the following documents, in PDF form, ready before starting the online application:

Mandatory Documents for All:

  • Class X Certificate
  • Class XII Mark sheet
  • Qualifying Degree: Mark sheets of all semesters/ years
  • Document for General Category: Nationality Certificate: Birth Certificate or Voter ID or First page of Passport or School Transfer Certificate (TC) showing nationality or Nationality Certificate issued by the authorised government agency or Aadhar Card
  • Any other documents, Ration Card, Driving License, College/ Institute/ School ID, Bank Passbook, PAN Card, Mark sheets are not considered as Nationality Certificate)
  • Category Certificate for OBC(NCL), SC and ST Applicants
  • PwD Certificate for PWD Applicants
  • The photograph and signature uploaded during the time of applying for JAM 2019 Examination will be used for the admission process
  • There is no need to re-upload the same
  • Irrespective of whether a candidate has qualified in one or two Test Papers, only one duly completed Admission Form should be submitted, listing in the options form all the program at IITs (along with the order of preferences) where the candidate is seeking admission

Application Fee

  • The application fee ( non – refundable ) for admission is Rs. 600 and this amount has to be paid ONLINE only using a credit card or debit card or net banking
  • No challan payment is accepted. During the time of payment of fee, additional charges pertaining to the mode of payment would be added up
  • Any application which is incomplete in any respect and does not have the required valid documents will be summarily rejected
  • The Applicants must take care to fill in the details in the application form correctly and must upload correct and valid documents
  • Candidate must ensure the successful submission of their application in the portal
  • Applicants are required to visit the ‘Admission Procedure’ link in the JAM 2019 website ( for more information on the application and payment processes
  • They are advised to visit the ‘FAQ for JAM 2019 Admission’ section as well for additional queries

Admission criteria

  • Candidate should note that mere qualifying or being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantee nor provide automatic entitlement to admission
  • The Admission would be based on the order of merit and available seats as well as meeting the ER and MEQ of the program in the concerned institute
  • The fulfilment of ER and MEQ is decided by the department offering the program and the prerogative to accept/reject the candidate remains with the department
  • The application form for admission will not be considered if the fee is not paid successfully on or before April 24, 2019
  • No further intimation regarding the rejection of application form for admission will be sent to the candidate in this regard
  • The admission in IISc Banglore, IISER Bhopal, IISER Pune and CCMN Institutes will NOT be done through the common JAM admission process
  • The candidate must directly apply to these institutes for admissions to their post-bachelor programs
