MBA at NMIMS University – The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies otherwise known as the NIMIS was set up by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (which shorts to SVKM) in the year 1981 to meet the ever growing demand of management education in the country. After serving a couple of decades, the institute was given the deemed university status in the year 2003 as per section 3 of the UGC act, 1956. The university strives to become of the globally admired universities by the year 2030 and has already made some good leaps towards its vision.
Working on its vision for more than 38 years now, NMIMS has not only grown to be one the top business schools in India but also expanded its reaches across the corners of the country setting up multi-disciplinary and multicultural campuses in cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Shirpur, Dhule, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chandigarh. It also has 14 constituent schools that include Management, Family Business, Arts, Mathematical science, and Distance learning.
As many as 15000 students have come out with successful careers and such a success is the brainchild of 700 full-time faculty members, 10 faculty members with full bright scholarship. That is an impressive list, isn’t it?
Admissions for MBA
Interested students can now apply for the MBA programme through their official website. Before venturing into the website, the candidate must have completed his/her bachelor’s program in any college recognised by a regulatory body with a minimum aggregate of 50%. The candidate would be required to take up an entrance exam called NMAT conducted by the GMAC which would be the first step in short listing candidates at the institute’s ends. The online registration would carry a registration fee which can be paid online via net banking, Credit or debit card whichever the candidate would seem comfortable with. Candidates choosing MA or PGDM programmes would be required to pay a fee of INR 1534 while candidates who choose both would be required to pay a fee of INR 1888. Candidates who are from the NRI community or who are not citizens of India can apply using a separate and exclusive portal on their website.
Candidates who are shortlisted would be called upon for a round of interviews based on which their entrance exam scores and their results on the interviews would decide the fate of their admission into the college. However, one should take note that the registration fee is non-refundable under any given scenario and that would include the candidate’s failure to clear his tests.
