Online Application for OPSC ASO Recruitment 2018

The registration process for Assistant Section Office (ASO) Recruitment 2018 has just commenced by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for a total of 500 positions. The OPSC has started accepting the online applications from eligible candidates till November 9, 2018. All these positions are permanent, and the selected candidates will be recruited in Group B services of Odisha Secretariat Service under the Home Department of the Government of Odhisha.


Those candidates with graduation and fall under the age group of 21-32 years as on January 1, 2018, are eligible to apply for this position, according to the official website, The examination fees the candidates have to pay are Rs.300, while those belonging to SC, ST and PWD categories are exempted from paying the taxes. The Commission has notified the recruitment as early as September this year, and as of now, it has given a tentative date for the examination, which is December 23, 2018. What is more, the Commission will select the candidates for the position by written examination and skill set. Those who qualify the written exam will be permitted to appear for the skill test. The written examination will be held at 33 zones in Odisha and the candidates should give the zone option for the written exam.

The official website notification said that the online applications are invited from the prospective candidates through the proforma application to be made available on the website from 10.10.2018 to 09.11.2018 for recruitment to 500 posts of ASO in Group – B of Odisha Secretariat Service under the Home Department in the scale of pay of Rs35,400 in Level IX, Cell I as per the pay matrix provided under Rule – 3 of ORSP, 2017 corresponding to pre-revised scale of pay of Rs.9,300-Rs.34,800 carrying Grade pay of Rs.4,200 with usual Dearness and other allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. Out of the 500 positions vacant (166-w), in the unreserved category, the number of jobs are 266 (88-w), SEBC 87 (20-w), SC 75 (25-w) and ST 72 (24-w). Out of the total of 500 openings, the reservation of vacancies in respect of sports person, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities are given below. Candidates belonging to PwD, ex-servicemen and sports persons shall be adjusted against the categories to which they belong.

In the sub-category, sports will have 5 openings (02-w), ex-servicemen 15, persons with disabilities 20 (05-w), persons with disabilities 20 (05-w), blindness or low vision 5 (2-w), hearing impairment 5 (1-w), locomotors disability of cerebral palsy 5 (1-w) and autism, intellectual disability, specific disability/multiple disabilities 5 (1-w). The places where examinations would be held includes Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Angul, Baragargh, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatisinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonhar, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Nalagarh, Puri, Rayagada, Rourkela, Subarnapur and Sundargarh.
