Online applications for Tripura TET 2019 from Today 4 PM

The online application process for Tripura Teacher’s Eligibility Test (T-TET) 2019 will begin today from 4.00 P.M., as per India Today report. Candidates can apply for the same till June 20, 2019. The examination is for the posts of Primary Teacher, Upper Primary Teachers and the primary teacher for class I-V and Upper Primary for class VI-VIII. Candidates who are going appear for the T-TET 2019 need to check the complete details given in the notification. As per the notification, exam dates of T-TET 2019 Paper-I & Paper-II and to download Admit Card will be notified later on. Candidates are also advised to check their eligibility criteria on the official website trb.tripura.gov.in before applying for the examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Paper-I (for Classes I-V)

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. EI. Ed.) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education
  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or 1-year Diploma in Education

Paper-II (for Classes VI-VII)

  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or 1-year Diploma in Education OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.)
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. EI. Ed.)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years B.A. / B. Sc. Ed or B. A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.)

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, National council for Teacher Education had vide Notification dated August 23, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in various levels of classes. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that she / he should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the National council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Accordingly, Government of Tripura has constituted the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) for conduct of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for selection of candidates at elementary level (for classes I to VIII) as well as conduct of Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (for classes IX-X) and Selection Test for Post Graduate Teachers (for classes XI-XII) for recommendation of recruitment of teachers. Presently, office of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) is located in the premises of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kunjaban, Agartala and exercises power throughout the state of Tripura. The Board functions with the Chairman, Member Secretary, three Members, Controller of Examinations, and other office staff.
