OP Jindal Global University figures in QS BRICS Rankings 2019
OP Jindal Global University – The Sonepat, Haryana based OP Jindal Global University (JGU) is the youngest Indian university to be ranked in the QS BRICS University Rankings 2019 out of the top 75 Indian varsities, IANS reported. JGU was listed in the 301 to 350 bracket, and the ranking placed it among the top three per cent of the varsities in the BRICS region that covers five nations, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, said the report.
“This global recognition of JGU in our short but inspirational journey of nine years is remarkable and something that we can be genuinely proud of in every sense of the word,” said Naveen Jindal, Founding Chancellor, JGU.
Professor Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, received the award from Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, on behalf of the university in the presence of Jason Newman, Vice President, QS, and Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director, QS, and other dignitaries.
The university has been ranked 23 out of 403 institutions among BRICS countries in the category of international faculty. “JGU continues to be ranked amongst the top 350 universities in the BRICS region by QS.
We had broken into these rankings for the first time in 2018,” said Professor C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor. “As a result of our hard work, commitment, and dedication to the cause of JGU’s vision and mission, JGU continues to be the youngest Indian university to feature in these rankings,” he added.
O.P. Jindal Global University is a Private university located at Sonipat, Haryana, India. It was established in 2009 as a philanthropic initiative of its founding chancellor, Naveen Jindal in memory of his father, O.P. Jindal.
The University consists of eight schools:

JGU has fostered collaborations with over 200 universities and institutions in 52 countries across the world. These collaborative ventures help implement ten different forms of partnerships: Faculty Exchange Programs, Student Exchange Programs, Joint Teaching, Joint Research, Joint Conferences, Joint Publications, Dual Degree Programs, Joint Executive Education Programs, Summer and Winter Schools and Study Abroad Programs.

The Global Library aims to play a proactive and essential role in the teaching-learning process. It occupies about 10000 square feet of area in T-2 Block of Academic Building. The Library has a collection of about 48000 print volumes and an array of electronic resources. The print collection includes books, monographs, research reports, law reports, and back volumes of periodicals etc. In addition to the professional reading, the library provides a right amount of leisure reading and books for soft skills development.
All subjects related to the University’s academic and research programmes have been included in the collection. Print resources of the Library have been divided into General Collection, and Reference Collection.
