PwC’s Academy forays into Indian education arena
The global consultancy firm, Price Water Coopers (PwC) forayed into the Indian education segment by launching PwC’s Academy recently, by offering a slew of training courses, based on the best practices of its global network of entities.
Initially, PwC’s Academy will eye on courses for professionals and students in finance and accounting domains. PwC is aiming at helping companies in meeting the challenges resulting from burgeoning regulatory and financial reporting horizon of corporate India.
According to Sanjay Tolia, Partner and Leader – Markets, PwC India, the country have a humongous talent pool, which needs the requisite training to be employable.
He said, within the realm of corporate reporting and regulations, significant transformations have been witnessed, resulting in the country adopting global best practices. Citing the recent adoption of substantially converged global IFRS standard in the country (Indian Accounting Standards), Tolia termed it as a significant change. Based on that, PwC decided to start with offering related courses. Next four years, the company is aiming at diversifying the course offerings to include other areas of business.
Currently, PwC’s Academy is offering a Diploma in International Financial Reporting, a globally recognised qualification programme on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an 80 hours course, which includes comprehensive study material, mock tests and interactive sessions.
Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) Workshops
This is a classroom training offers four-day long knowledge sessions on Indian Accounting Standards and other regulatory updates. The faculty members are experienced practitioners who had undergone rigorous and extensive internal training programmes. The faculty members also bring on enriched table experience by working in some of the world’s leading organisations.

PwC’s Academy invites you to enrol in a training programme that will prepare you for the qualification exam of the ACCA Diploma in International Financial Reporting (ACCA DipIFR). The application will be conducted in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bangalore. ACCA DipIFR will be delivered by PwC, in association with The British Education Centre, at their facilities.
