Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai – Courses offered
Sir JJ College of Architecture is one of the most renowned educational institutions in India. Located in Mumbai, the college is ranked as one of the top five institutions by Outlook and India today magazines. The college offers both undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in Architecture. Stated initially as Asia’s first school of Architecture way back in 1913, the institution gained the status of a college later.
Seats & Cut Off Merit Score
For B.Arch, there are 82 seats available, and for M.Arch, 12 seats are available. For general candidates, the cutoff mark is 148.46, for SC candidates 128.69, for ST candidates 116.46 and SBC/OBC candidates 150.2.
For candidates from Maharashtra, J&K migrants and Government of India nominated candidates: Academic Qualifications: The candidates must possess either of the following qualifications:
The applicant must have cleared level 12 examinations from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent Board with mathematics as a compulsory subject.
The applicant must have passed 10+3 full-time diploma from an AICTE/Central/State recognised institute.
The applicant must score minimum 50% marks in class 12 or equivalent examination. The minimum marks are 45% for applicants belonging to Backward Class and person with a disability residing to Maharashtra only.
Qualifying Examination Score
NATA Score: Candidate must have obtained at least 40% marks, that is 80 marks of 200 in NATA. The minimum marks are 35% for applicants belonging to the backward class and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra only.
Application form and Admit Card
To gain admission in JJ College of Architecture, candidates need to make an application for the centralised admission process (CAP). Under CAP, a joint merit list is prepared for all the candidates who have applied for the admission to the first year of B.Arch programme. Admissions are conducted by merit list, and different participating institutes have different cut off marks at the time of entry.
Information Booklet: The information booklet for the admission process can be purchased from any ARC by paying the application fee of Rs.700 for general candidates and Rs.500 for reserved categories.
The applicants need to make the payment using either demand draft or postal order drawn in favour of director of technical education, Mumbai payable at Mumbai.
The booklet will contain application ID, password and essential application for filing the application form, along with a sheet where the candidate needs to affix a recent photograph and signature. The sheet will be scanned and uploaded while making the application.
Candidates need to visit the official website of CAP and register on the site using the application number and password received along with the information booklet. After registering all the required information need to be updated in the online application form.
After filling all the information and uploading the sheet having signature and photograph on it, candidates need to submit the application form and take the printout of the completed application form. The application form will have the list of the documents which need to be produced for verification purpose.
The fee structure for B.Arch and the mode of payment is as follows: Tuition fees and other fees for open category students Rs.10,186 and fees for the reserved category students are Rs.636 and the method of payments are first demand draft; development fees Rs.6,000, for reserved category and the mode of payment is second demand draft. The examination fees are Rs.750 for opening category students, and the method of payment is through third demand draft. The eligibility fee for open category students is Rs.320, fees for reserved category students Rs.320 and the mode of payment is cash. In addition to that, the candidates need to pay an enrolment fees (for both open and reserved) Rs.220 and examination form fee of Rs.10.
