Tamil Nadu TN ESLC 2019 results declared

TN ESLC 2019 –  The result of the Eighth Standard Public Examination (ESLC) Examination is out. The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) Tamil Nadu has released the result of ESLC examinations on March 19. The students who have appeared in the examination can check the results through the official websites results.nic.in, dge.tn.gov.in, dge1.tn.nic.in, said the IE report. The TN ESLC examination was held from January 21-25 pan India.

Steps to download TN ESLC Results

  • Visit the official websites dge.tn.gov.in, dge1.tn.nic.in
  • Click on the download result link
  • Enter registration, roll number
  • Results will appear on the screen
  • Download it, and take a print out for further reference
  • The students who had appeared in the examination can check the results from all the above-mentioned websites


  • Main objective of the Department of Government Examination is the assessment of Scholastic attainment of academic students and skilled attainments by conducting X and XII Board Examinations, Government Technical Examinations, Diploma in Elementary Education, NMMS, TRUSTS, National Talent Search Examinations and releasing of results in time, and issuing certificates therefore under the authority of Government of Tamil Nadu

Higher Secondary and SSLC Examinations

  • Every year under the academic stream of 10-year pattern SSLC and Higher Secondary Examination for the 12th standard are the main examinations conducted by this Department
  • In order to facilitate the students to continue the studies without any break, the Special Supplementary Examinations for X and XII are held for the benefit of students who have failed in March / April Examinations
  • From June / July 2012 candidates are allowed to appear for special supplementary examinations, irrespective of the number of subjects they failed

Diploma in Elementary Educations

  • The Directorate is also holding the examinations for the Diploma in Elementary Education, The scanned copy of answer scripts is provided to the candidates who desire for it
  • Re-totalling and revaluation of answer scripts is also done for the candidates who desire


  • In Order to impart minimum general education qualification to obtain employment/promotion at the basic level, DGE conducts the ESLC Examinations

Government Technical Examinations

  • Technical Examinations are held for the following subjects namely Drawing, Sewing, Agriculture, Printing, Music and Handloom Weaving to provide technical qualification for employment
  • The examinations are conducted in two levels: Lower and Higher Grade

Tamil Nadu Rural Students Talent Search Examination

  • This Examination is being conducted every year in the month of September, to encourage the rural students
  • The students studying in IX standard during the academic year, whose parental annual income does not exceed Rs.1 lakh are eligible to appear for the Examination
  • A group of 50 girls and 50 boys are selected from each district and a scholarship of Rs.1000 a year is granted for a continuous period of four years
  • The students are allowed to apply through online

National Means cum Merit Scholarship

The Directorate holds the NMMS examination and the candidates are selected based on the marks and rule of reservation

Candidates who have passed VII standard from Central/State Government Schools / Government Aided Schools with 55% of marks (50% of marks for SC/ST) and studying in VIII standard and whose parental annual income does not exceed Rs.1, 50,000 are eligible to appear for the examinations and the selected candidates will get a sum of Rs.6, 000 as scholarship per annum (at the rate of Rs.500/- per month) from IX standard onwards up to XII standard. This scheme provides scholarships to 6,695 candidates of Tamil Nadu every year

National Talent Search Examination

  • The Directorate acts as the Nodal Agency for National Council for Educational Research and Training in conducting the National Talent Search Examination at Level I
  • Students, who are studying in X standard, in the State / Central Board Schools during the academic year, are eligible to appear for this examination
  • After the publication of results of Level I, the Level II examination is held by the National Council for Educational Research and Training at National level and the interview is conducted for the successful candidates
  • This scheme provides a scholarship to 40 candidates of Tamil Nadu every year
  • The selected students are awarded a scholarship of Rs.500 per month from XI standard to XII standard and from degree level to Ph.D., the level scholarship is paid as per the recommendation of U.G.C for a maximum period of four years
