The dawn of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham goes back to 1994 at the foothills of Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore. Beginning with just thirteen faculty members and 120 students but today the scenes and statistics have changed drastically. With five different campuses in three different states across India, the institution takes pride in its progress. The institution offers over 120 UG, PG, and Doctoral programs. Massive efforts taken for tree planting along with a lot of forestation activities undertaken by the management and staffs have made it a place of lush green and beautiful dream surrounding to seek education. To add more beauty to the environment it is a place for several exotic birds, including parrots and peacocks making them a dream place to pursue education.
One more crown was added to the institution’s name in January 2003, when the institution became the youngest group of institutions to attain the deemed university status. Coimbatore acts as the home to the administrative headquarters of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Apart from the schools of engineering and business, the Coimbatore campus has departments of social work and communication. The presence of research centers like AMBE, CEN, and Cybersecurity make them special. This sprawling 400-acre campus houses nearly 3500 students and 600 faculty and staff members.
