Anbil Dharmalingam agricultural college and research institute or ADAC & RI is known as the fourth agricultural college which was established under Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The college was first started at Kumulur, near Lalgudi in district of Tiruchirappalli in 1989. Later it was shifted to its present campus in Navalur village. It is 14 km from the town of Tiruchirappalli in the year 1992. The current location was established with ICAR funding and the agricultural research station was started with the ICAR funding. The centre was later named as Kumaraperumal farm science centre because of the liberal donation of 2.2 lakhs by Th.K.P.Kalaippapillai who is the son of Mr. Kumarapeumal. In the year 1980, with the help of national agricultural research project the institute was upgraded as a soil salinity research centre they conducted the research on saline soil which was unique in this area. ADAC & RI is one of the developed centre in India on soil problem, especially in salt affected soil. They provide a good learning environment and the best academic activities for transforming their students into an expert in the field of agricultural technology.
