Your professor may take a business case and lead a discussion from a marketing angle and then invite discussion of the same case from a microeconomics perspective. Learn to approach business decisions differently and effectively adapt to change. For working professionals, the Evening MBA program not only offers flexibility, but it also allows you to earn your degree in 3 years. You may complete your degree even faster if you opt for full-time status or qualify for advanced standing credit. While the average completion time for the Evening MBA is 3 1/2 years, you have the option of completing your degree in more time or less. Fast Track combines in-person and Web-based learning by pairing the most up-to-date virtual learning technologies with our highly innovative approach to business education. Fast Track also emphasizes team-based learning. You’ll learn not only from top educators and business leaders, but also from peers and teammates. Since most of your classmates are mid- to senior-level managers, you’ll greatly expand your network of contacts and sources of information—important as you build your career. The Fast Track’s central, unifying theme is entrepreneurial leadership in a changing global environment. The program teaches the essential skills that every manager needs to know. The technology-based distance learning components reinforce the program’s dynamic focus. Professors quickly disseminate course material, permit effective course discussions, and facilitate robust student-to-student collaboration. Faculty and students communicate more flexibly and immediately in this real-time learning environment. Pedagogy / Methodology Course work and activities in the Fast Track MBA follow a modular format designed, in broad terms, to mirror the cycle of business development. Respectively, the core curriculum focuses on: * Recognizing and assessing an opportunity * Formulating a business strategy * Implementing the business strategy * Modifying that strategy and systems as conditions evolve and change The content of each portion of the curriculum reflects the real-world challenges and opportunities facing managers today, and will draw heavily on students’ own work-life experiences. Program Logistics The Fast Track program enrolls classes beginning in March in San Francisco, California, and in March and October on the Wellesley campus. There are three major components to Fast Track: * Face-to-face meetings (approximately every six weeks at Babson and San Francisco, CA) * Action learning projects (short, highly focused assignments) * Distance-learning components (the Web-based element of the program) Core Curriculum The program is delivered via distance learning, approximately 18-22 hours per week. Face-to-face sessions are held approximately every six weeks, all day on Fridays and Saturdays at Babson College and San Francisco, California. The curriculum is divided into specific programs such as Building Business Insight (BBI), Advanced Business Leadership (ABL), and electives that trace the business development cycle across the entrepreneurial thinking curriculum.
