G.B. Pant Polytechnic College (GBPPC), New Delhi was established in 1961. The college is affiliated to the University of Delhi and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It was named after Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, a renowned freedom fighter and an able administrator. This Polytechnic flaunts its name in the international arena by being the biggest Polytechnic in Asia. The institute is housed in a plot of area of more that 40 acres. It is self dependent as it consists of spacious academic complex, hostel block, cosy residential complex, library, workshop and lush green playgrounds. This institute also runs a community polytechni8c scheme of MHRD to take technology to their d00r steps/ thresholds of the rural, urban, slum dwellers and other weaker section of the society by providing them training of six month duration in various non-formal courses.
