Jnana Vikas Institute of Technology (JVIT), Bangalore was established in 2001 is one among the foremost institutions in technological education. It is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The college has been established itself as a premier centre of teaching in Karnataka. The institute has four academic departments in various disciplines of engineering and three departments in general science.

JVIT is a residential campus with nearly 73 faculties, 28 technical and non-technical supporting staff, 27 administrative and supporting staff and is a self-contained campus located in a beautiful green land of about 25 acres. The campus is located at Bidadi, in southern part of city of Bangalore.

The training and placement cell at JVIT aims at making available quality placement opportunities for students and at maintaining linkage with human resource departments in the industry and research organizations. The cell is headed by a training and placement officer and is assisted by the placement coordinator and has faculty and student representatives from each department. The focus of the cell is to strike a match between recruiter expectations and student aspirations. The main aim of the placement cell is to provide a unique platform to the students by acting as a link between the industries and the academia.
