Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Vishwa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVM), Kanchipuram was established in 1993. The university was founded under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust. The University has a unique focus on integrating traditional knowledge with modern scientific practices with a global outlook. The university is approved by UGC in 2009. The vision of the university is to provide quality higher education coupled with Indian value system and at the same time makes it affordable to all sections of the society irrespective of their social or economic standing.
The university envisages a culture that is characterized by excellent faculty-student interaction and prevalence of one family atmosphere. The emphasis is not on mere acquisition of knowledge and its application but on the all-round personality development of the student and his value system. Education is viewed not as accumulation of ideas, but as a process of channelizing them to perfection, leading to proper development of the faculties of the student and hence life making.
Campus of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Vishwa Mahavidyalaya –
University is located in a sprawling complex of 50 acre at Enathur, at a distance of about 4 kilometres from Kanchipuram. The University has a campus in Poonamalle, Chennai, housing an Ayurveda College, research centre and hospital.
