NDA 2019 notification in January second week

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the official notification for NDA and NA examinations in the second week of January, most probably on January 9, according to the official announcement. The examination will be held on April 21, if there is no alteration to the schedule that was released by the Commission earlier. Online registration will continue till February 4 at the official website of the UPSC at upsc.gov.in. The exam is held for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC), noted the report.


  • 10+2 pass students are eligible to apply for this examination
  • Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination
  • Those appearing in the Class XI examination are not eligible for this examination
  • Candidates are selected on the basis of the written examination conducted by UPSC and interview held by Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence
  • Only those candidates who qualify the written exam are shortlisted for the interview
  • The final result of NDA & NA (I) 2018 exam was declared on November 27. A total of 379 have been declared qualified for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA for the 141st Course and Naval Academy for the 103rd INAC.

Application Form

  • Before filling the application, candidates must check the guidelines to fill the application form
  • UPSC will provide the NDA 2019 application form through online mode
  • The application form will be released from January 9 (for NDA I) and August 7 (for NDA II)
  • The registration form comprises of two parts, i.e. Part I and Part II
  • Candidates will have to provide their general details in Part I
  • In Part II, candidates have to select their exam, pay the application fee and upload the scanned images of photograph and signature
  • The images should be in JPG format with photograph (3KB – 40KB) and signature (1KB – 40KB) size
  • No correction facility provided after the final submission of UPSC NDA application form.
  • No need to send the printout of the application form to the UPSC.

Application Fee:

  • Candidates will have to pay the application fee through debit/credit card and SBI net banking
  • Fee payment can also be done through challan of SBI bank
  • The application fee is Rs. 100
  • SC/ST candidates, Sons of JCOs, NCOs and Ors are exempted from the payment of application fee
