TNPSC Assistant Jailor examination on January 6, 2019
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) had invited application for filling 30 posts of Assistant Jailors. According to an NDTV report, the openings under Tamil Nadu Jail Subordinate Service will be filled through written examination, followed by the personal interview. The written reviews will be conducted on January 6, 2019, comprising on two papers. The examination of the first paper will be held from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM and the second paper from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM, noted the report. The aspiring candidates can submit their application till November 7, 2018. The last date for payment of fees through the bank is November 9, 2018.
The examination fee is Rs.150 payable online either throught net banking or credit/debit card, or it might as well be paid by offline at SBI/Indian Bank within two days from the date of submission of online application, by choosing the option in the online form.
All graduates are eligible to apply for the Assistant Jailor’s post. The educational qualification prescribed for this position should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies SSLC + HSC for its equivalent + UG Degree. Candidates should also fulfil the physical standards set by the Commission. Applicants should have adequate knowledge in Tamil. The written exam will comprise of degree standard questions from Constitution and Human Rights, Administration of Union and States with particular reference to Tamil Nadu, Socio-Economic issues in India / Tamil Nadu, Current matters at National and State Level, General Tamil / General English, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test and questions from general studies, added the report.
As per the notification by the Commission, the name of the position is Assistant Jailor in Tamil Nadu prison, Tamil Nadu Jail Subordinate Service and the number of vacancies includes Assistant Jailor (Men) 16 and Assistant Jailor (Women) 14. The scale of pay of Level- 11 is Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400. It is mandatory for the applicants to register their essential particulars through One Time online registration system on payment of Rs.150 towards registration fee and then should apply online for this recruitment. The one-time registration is valid for five years from the date of registration. After that, the registration should be renewed by paying the prescribed fee.
The examination centres include Ariyalur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Kanchipuram, Kanyakumari, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, The Nilgiris, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Theni, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvarur, Thoothukudi, Thiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Vellore, Villupuram and Virudhunagar. The request for change of centre or venue will not be entertained, and the Commission reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of examination centres and re-allot the applications. Applicants should appear for the written examination/physical test/certificate verification/oral test at their expenses.
